Første navn offentliggjort til Raise Your Horns 2025 er det symfoniske black/melodeath metal band Defacing God, der kan fejre ti år som band med deres optræden på festivalen. Der gik syv år fra dannelsen i Aalborg til udgivelsen af deres debutalbum ’The Resurrection of Lilith’ i 2022 på Napalm Records, der signede bandet på baggrund af et par selvudgivede singler. I skrivende stund er Defacing God i færd med at lægge sidste hånd på opfølgeren, der produceres af legendariske Tue Madsen i hans Antfarm studie og endnu en gang står til at udkomme på Napalm.
De sidste par år har været begivenhedsrige for bandet med succesfulde turneer i Europa med Krisiun og Illdisposed samt koncerter over hele Danmark inkl. Copenhell i 2023. Med inspiration fra navne som Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy og Fleshgod Apocalypse er gruppens sange baseret i historie, folklore, heksekunst og det okkulte leveret med bestialske vokaler og en nådesløs liveoptræden. Raise Your Horns bliver deres første koncert på Bornholm, og vi kunne ikke være mere begejstrede for at præsentere Defacing God som festivalens første annoncerede band.

First name announced for Raise Your Horns 2025 is symphonic black/melodeath metal band Defacing God who can celebrate ten years as a band with their performance at the festival. It took seven years from the formation in Aalborg to the release of their debut album ’The Resurrection of Lilith’ in 2022 on Napalm Records who signed the band based on a couple of self-released singles. At the time of writing, Defacing God are finishing up on the follow-up which is produced by the legendary Tue Madsen at his Antfarm studio and once again is set to release on Napalm.
The last couple of years have been eventful for the band with successful tours of Europe with Krisiun and Illdisposed as well as shows all over Denmark including Copenhell in 2023. With inspiration from names such as Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, and Fleshgod Apocalypse, the group’s songs are based in history, folklore, witchcraft, and the occult delivered with ferocious vocals and a relentless live performance. Raise Your Horns will be their first show on Bornholm, and we could not be more thrilled to present Defacing God as the first band announced for the festival.
